GREEK PRESENCE IN INDIA ~ THE TRUTH CAN'T BE HIDDEN

A few days ago, Indian nationalists launched an attack to close the page Greek Asia Blog on Facebook. They shared our page to their native groups and pages by suggesting their members to make a negative review on our the page and then report  it to Facebook in order for it to be shut down.

This is our answer to them.

We have asked you to show us the culture you had during the same time when Alexander the Great lived. We asked to see Indian temples and statues from 350 BCE- you kept showing us temples from 800 CE and even 1200 CE. You kept sending us animal seals from Harappa presenting them as statues.
Things are very simple. If there was an Indian temple built in 500 BCE, your government wouldn't have put Sanchi stupa- which is influenced by Greek art- on your banknotes. They would have put something from the Hindu religion.

You showed us a bronze statuette, saying that it is 25,000 years old, saying that Shiva gave it to Tibetan Buddhists, and when we asked in which museum we can see it, you said that it had been stolen by the CIA( !!!! ) This could have been an excellent movie script, especially since it took place 22,500 years before Buddha himself was born...

You showed us Taxila university ,claiming it's yours , but you failed to mention that it was built by the Persians ,during their occupation of that area.
You desperately tried to pass off a statue of Chandragupta from 1930 as 'ancient'. You also showed us a a coin which depicts king porus, claiming that it is indian. Too bad this coin was made by Alexander the Great, and it is therefore Greek.

You keep trying to distort History by saying that Porus defeated Alexander the Great.
You started tagging on our Facebook post various people to tell us off, and even your prime minister himself! What would they do? Chastise us for telling the truth?

Did you panic? Are you so afraid of your own History and the truth? You keep saying that you will 'rewrite' indian History. At least write it correctly.
You claim that your land had never been conquered in antiquity, and yet:
You fail to mention that when Alexander campaigned to Persia, half your land had been under Persian rule, without any resistance whatsoever against the conquerors.
Take a look at the last 2,500 years and see how many conquerors took over your country. This is part of your History.

Are you afraid of the fact that Greeks influenced your country so much ? Is it such a fearful thing to you ?
History is recorded in books, and carved on marble, stone, and coins such as the ones pictured above. And History needs to be known and appreciated.
